Jbl 2480 driver

To use it on a hz or hz horn you will probably want to drill the back plate and add a small chamber similar to a K55M. I have my eye on two big tractrix horns but to roll off around hz wouldn't I want a hzhz horn? The M is small, the photo shows a weather cover that is used with a 70V tranformer for outdoor use. They sound great as a dedicated midrange device, it's what they were designed for. We have a sound contractor in town that has four on a co2 powered lift tower for voice use no woofers , they are very good at a great distance as well.

I am all for experimenting and improving my sound and offer encouragement to you if you feel the need to mod your box. When I heard Lee Michaels he had a wall of 's. Maybe they had JBL,don't know anything more except it sounded great. A wall of Marshall stacks with pilot lights lit Right outa 'This Is Spinal Tap'. Those rock posers really had the people hoodwinked! Cue 'Spaceship Superstar'.

I got a modded 22h with an organ that had something like the for the treble driver. I wanted to use a tube amp instead of the solid state one it had been modded with, and briefly used the with the standard Jensen bass speaker and a 22h amp.

I didn't really care for the sound, mostly because the overpowered the bass rotor. Playing a left hand bass line was ineffective and the highs were kind of shrill. I haven't tried a myself, but all the sources I've read on them say that you have to pad them down to balance with the woofer. You have to use a resistor network to do this in order to keep the impedance looking the same to the crossover. An adjustable device like this is known as an L-pad.

It's not uncommon in any sort of two-way speaker system using a horn driver to have to attenuate an extremely efficient horn driver. If you base your Leslie on a solid state model like I did you can balance the bass and treble amps. It's like a poor mans Bill Beer Leslie. You also still have the correct crossover point from the active crossover. I can't remember though whether the padding affects the tonality of the JBL I know that with guitar amps that have an attenuator it can affect tone.
