It is not a file based backup and I think it does some checking we would not expect a backup to do but I do not know specfically what it checks for. For instance say you have an external USB drive attached which the automatic backup has been backing up.

When I disconnected this USB drive I could find no way that the backup would run and indicate that it was successful. Not automaticly run backups or manually run backups. I attached that USB drive again and the backup was successful. I consider it possible that perfect disk makes changes to the way things are stored on the hard disk which the backup detects but does not understand and as a result by it's limited logic calls the backup a failure which may or may not be entirely correct.

First off I have not paid enough attention to know all the options available such as an option to manually initiate a new full backup. If you can manually initiate a new full backup try that first. I suspect that a full backup will succeed where there have been changes it doesn't understand where a backup of changes since the last full will fail. Second I would try moving the backup for this computer somewhere where the backup system doesn't see it then try a full backup.

Third I would try deleting all previous backup for this PC and then run a manual full backup and I surmise that it will be successful. Good luck and let use know what behavior you observe. Hey Guys I could not figure out why I did the scan disk, automatic check, etc.

Nothing helped. So I started thinking Backed up with no problems. Thanks for the last two posts on this subject Last - first: This client does not have any sort of recovery partition so that is not the problem. And it was working fine for an extended period Photon wrote:. I have just marked all the "bad" backups for deletion -- as well as the last good one. Then I initiated a cleanup. Will check in the morning to see whether it backs up!

I am not expecting success, but I may get lucky! Thanks again for your response. Posted: Fri Mar 07, pm. Posted: Sat Mar 08, am. Page 1 of 2. Go to page 1 , 2 Next. Previous topic Next topic. Post subject: Posted: Sun Mar 02, am.
